Getting There

From Mexico City

Take Highway 57 to Querétaro. A few kilometers further, after the second tollbooth (Palmillas), take the Tequisquiapan-San Juan del Río exit. From there take federal highway 120 toward Jalpan de Serra, enjoying the Sierra Gorda route—a UNESCO-designated Biosphere Reserve for its wide-ranging biodiversity. Drive carefully as you take in unparalleled landscapes featuring impressive sixteenth-century Franciscan missions, designated UN World Heritage Sites. Once you reach Jalpan de Serra, continue on the Chilmalco-Jalpan highway until you reach Xilitla.

From San Luis Potosí

Take the San Luis Potosí-Matehuala highway. Approximately 62 km. there is the deviation towards the town of Río Verde (highway 70), when arriving at Río Verde, take the Route to Ciudad Valles: Locate the Super highway Río Verde - Ciudad Valles (fee) 5 km. Before reaching Ciudad Valles you will find the Tamazunchale bypass, there you join the México-Laredo highway (highway 85) towards Tamazunchale, when you reach the junction, where the distance traveled will be approximately 70 km, you must deviate to the right on highway 120 towards Xilitla San Luis Potosí.

From Tampico

Take Route 70, the Tampico-Ciudad Valles Highway. Near Ciudad Valles there is a turnoff to Tamazunchale via Highway 85. After traveling some 72 km, you reach the junction with Highway 120, leading to Sierra Gorda. Take 120 to Xilitla.
